You’ll be pleased to know that TT has now reopened to all submissions.

We are looking for pieces for issue 12, due Nov, this will be TT’s Christmas issue;

as usual for this time of year we are looking for pieces that are twisted with a Christmas theme as well as the normal twisted pieces.

If you are submitting a Christmas themed piece can you please say so in the subject bar of the email.

Twisted Tongue is looking for original, well-written stories with a twist, whether it is a twist in the tale or a twisted tale. We are open to all genres, sf/f/h elements preferred but will consider others. We want tales that are powerful, emotional, we want to be pulled off our seats into the tale. We are also open for poetry too.

New and up-and-coming writers are just as welcome as established writers.

 

The small print:

1. We reserve the right to edit content in addition to anything grammatical as we see fit, with author involvement for major changes if required.

2. We accept submissions sent HERE attached word document preferred, email submissions only.

3. Your submitted work must be in either Word, Word Perfect, text.  Please do not send MAC formatted files.

4. Please include an author bio so that we can promote your work on our site. Feel free to add any links to your website or other published works.

6.  We reserve the right to update these guidelines at any time. 

7. We do accept previously published works. If you have a tale, poem, or artwork that has been previously published and you still own the right to publish it again, we will consider it for publication please note when submitting, please add 'Previously published by: name of publisher' below the title of the tale.

8. All submissions will place you automatically on the mailing list.

9. Please stick to the guidelines.

10. All rights revert back to the author/artist upon publication.

 

Submission format:

Font: Garamond. 12 point size.

Fiction: Please put 'Fiction Sub' in the subject line, then the title of your piece. Maximum word count 5k, for longer pieces please query first. Multiple submissions accepted up to 3.

Flash Fiction: Please put 'Flash Sub' in the subject line, then the title of your piece. Word count 200 – 800. Multiple submissions accepted up to 5.

Micro Fiction: Please put 'Micro Sub' in the subject line, then the title of your piece. Word count 50 – 200. Multiple submissions accepted up to 5.

Novellas: Please contact with details, these will be printed as serials.

Poetry: Please put 'Poetry Sub' in the subject line, then the title of your piece. Maximum length 100 lines, but will consider longer pieces depending on content. Multiple submissions accepted up to 5.

Response Time: Average 6-12 weeks.

Payment:  The editor will choose the 'Ed's Choice' from all accepted submissions (this includes short stories/flash-micro fiction/poetry) and award the author/poet £10. All contributors will recieve a free PDF they are published in.
